In the Neighbourhood (2013-14) is a portrait of seemingly idyllic neighbourhood in a working class district in Tampere. Beautiful facade of quaint gardens, charming houses hides steep unemploymency, social exclusion, and generational scars of recessions from 1990’s and 2008 financial crisis.

BIOSakari Piippo (b. 1981) is a documentary photographer based in Helsinki, Finland.
He has his master's degree in Visual Journalism from the University of Tampere, and has also studied Visual Storytelling at the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
